About Venus Space Club:

"I started writing Venus Space Club after getting lost creating weird spacey, laser sounds on my laptop. On the surface, Venus Space Club is a playful exploration about what it would be like in the future if we could go to parties and dates out in space. As I worked on the EP, I realized that it was a reflection of my inner mind state at the time—that I wanted my life to be different from what it was, but I was afraid to move beyond the situation I was in. Venus Space Club is about that journey and the hesitation that I felt as I was changing and growing into the person I am now." - Black Jade

Black Jade is a Los Angeles-based music producer, vocalist, and songwriter. She makes silky r&b music sprinkled with futuristic candy-like elements. She's a resident for Beat Cinema, a music collective and event series. Black Jade also holds a PhD in Computer Music from UC San Diego and is a music software developer with Output.
